Air is sucked into the interior of the device by means of a particularly quiet fan. The air then flows through a channel in which the two UV-C lamps are located. The particularly high-energy ultraviolet light with a wavelength of 254 nm destroys the genetic material of the viruses in the air. This means that the viruses can no longer reproduce. The air is then directed out of the device at the side.
Due to the suction in the middle on the device, the device offers optimal conditions for use on tables near people. Air contaminated with viruses that is emitted by people can be sucked in directly.
Furthermore, complex light traps prevent UV-C radiation from escaping, which is why the unit is suitable for use on tables. There is a lamp life monitoring function.
